Sutera Apartments, also named The Seed, is a low-density apartment development planned around an oasis of recreational facilities and landscaped open space. Developed in phases, there shall be a total of 1250 units of apartments sprawled over the 47-acre site, having a density of only 27 units per acre. The first phase of 330 units and recreational facilities were completed in May 2015.
Architecturally, the apartments are kept low and sculpted to maintain a comfortable human scale. Generous amount of glazing provides good day-lighting and visual integration with the lush external environment. At the heart of the development is a large swimming pool and a wide range of recreational facilities that form the oasis to this project. This provides a natural evaporative cooling effect for the residents.
The apartment units are housed in 6-storey point blocks and 3-storey terraced blocks with linear garden pathways that act as extensive park connectors throughout the huge site. Much emphasis is placed on sustainable lush vegetation and landscaping to attain a wholesome garden living concept. All ground floor units have their own private gardens to enjoy and bask in the sun. Home grown vegetables can be planted on the ground floor as a sustainable method.
